Politics:

Patsy has been a Councillor in Cookstown District Council since 1993. He is currently Chairman of Cookstown District Council. He was Chairman of the SDLP Association of Councillors between 1999 - 2002 and is Vice President of the Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA). Patsy was a delegate at talks which led to Good Friday Agreement and was a delegate to Forum of Peace and Reconciliation, December 2002.

Patsy is a Board Member of Foras na Gaeilge, and a member of the EU Structural Funds Monitoring Committee for Northern Ireland. He is also Board Member of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and a member of the Northern Ireland Housing Council. He is a member of the Irish Central Border Area Network (ICBAN), and Vice Chairman of Loughshore Foot and Mouth Support Group. In his spare time Patsy enjoys wildfowling, clay pigeon shooting, reading and writing.
