| Info | Having grown up in Tennessee and graduated from the Tennessee public schools, Jack's Tennessee roots are strong and deep. Jack is a Christian with a commitment to conservative principles.
As one of six children, Jack learned the value of hard work and independence early in life. Jack enrolled in the Army National Guard at age 17. Using proceeds from the GI Bill and an academic scholarship, Jack attended Vanderbilt University, where he graduated with honors. Jack also earned a Masters in Theology from the Covenant Theological Seminary. Jack took time off from seminary to serve at Fort Campbell during the first Gulf War.
Jack co-founded a small business with his brother in 2002. His business serves other small businesses by helping them locate and secure new capital for growth. As a small business owner and an adviser to other businesses, he understands the harsh realities facing so many Tennessee businesses today. In an effort to assist the next generation of business owners, Jack serves as an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University, teaching a course on Entrepreneurship.
Jack also spent a year and a half working in Washington DC as a Chief of Staff for a Member of Congress.
Jack met his wife Nancy during his college days. The two married soon after graduation. They can often be found chasing their six children, Mary Katherine, Sally, Lucy, Polly, John, and Frank. The family attends Covenant Presbyterian Church, where Jack teaches Sunday School and performs with the Covenant Brass Quintet.
