Info | Schnader had served as Pennsylvania Attorney General prior to his campaign for Governor. In 1934, he signed onto a civil rights lawsuit brought by African American parents in Chester County who sought to end local school segregation, initiated in 1932. Schnader signed the complaint in early 1934, which almost immediately ended segregation in that locality.
