InfoI am running for the Republican nomination for the South Carolina District 1 Congressional seat.

This is a very exciting year in our nation’s history. The last twelve months have seen an extraordinary awakening of Americans across the country. From tea parties to town hall meetings to 9-12 organizations, we are standing up for the basic Constitutional principles that make our country the greatest on earth.

The United States has been on a disturbing path towards increased government intervention in our lives for the last 80 years. Though the goals may have been admirable, the means have been destructive. Politicians and government officials have simply forgotten that the ingenuity, spirit, excitement, and entrepreneurialism of the American people are where all of our solutions reside.

Our nation’s economy will always have ups and downs. However, there is no question that our current situation was, and continues to be, exacerbated by failed government policies. As entrepreneurs, businessmen, and working folks, we all understand one simple truth – Uncertainty Stifles Growth! If we live in fear of government takeovers, increased regulation, massive government spending, and ever-increasing taxes, our economy cannot recover.

The time is now for putting citizens back in control of their lives. We know what is best for us and our families. We just need to put people in government who understand that basic principle and will work tirelessly toward that end.

If government is the problem, then politicians and more government are not the answers. Join our effort to send Citizen Legislators like me to Washington. Read my simple, straightforward approach to the issues on this website. And then feel good about the fact that there really is something we can do.

I will run a campaign based on a series of town hall-style meetings. There is no reason to wait for a healthcare legislation crisis for all of us to be heard. If I’m elected, town hall meetings will be a staple of my representation. So let’s start them now!

Looking forward to meeting you ... and organizing to take back our country!
