InfoI was born in Sacramento, California, to an engineer from Missouri and an immigrant from New Zealand; we moved to Kensington when I was 3, and to El Cerrito when I was 5. El Cerrito is just north of the liberal stronghold of Berkeley. My sister, Carol, joined us while we were still in Sacramento.

While a senior at El Cerrito High School (a public school), I started at the University of California, Berkeley; Berkeley was a good Engineering school. Those of us in math, science, or engineering spent most of our time on the north side of the campus and tended to be much more conservative than the liberal arts and social science majors on the south side. Work (see CV for employers) took me to Arizona, and then to Colorado about 1983.

My work included originating the Intel 8096 family processor architecture, and its predecessor the Ford EEC-4 engine control processor, as well as other integrated circuits. I was—quite literally—a politically inactive computer-geek.

Life did have to be more than computers! I went to law school at Brigham Young University not because I wanted to be a lawyer, but because I was hoping to use law in engineering and corporate management. That plan went a bit awry, and I eventually became a patent attorney. I do primarily patent prosecution, this brand of law involves a lot more Engineering and Technical Writing than it does the arguing and advocacy of Law – each patent application I write requires becoming familiar with a different technical field.

The biggest drawback to patent law is that most of what we do is in the back room, away from people; and sanity requires contact with people! Medicine is a field that involves much more contact with people; this – and what I felt was guidance from God received through prayer – led me to Medical School in 2003. Medical school was fun, with eight months of rotations in England, nearly a year in California, and lecture years in the Caribbean.

Since receiving my MD in 2007, I resumed my patent law practice while seeking residency. Unfortunately, my search for a residency position has not been successful; less than half of US citizens with ECFMG certification found residency positions last year in part because the US government granted over 3500 J-1 and H-1B visas to new immigrants so that those immigrants could take the residency jobs.

It was not until 2007 that I became politically active.

During the past two and a half years, I became quite frustrated with the 2008 election cycle, including its press coverage and the way certain candidates hid their background and even birthplace. The one elected has surrounded himself with repulsive characters from the radical left, including avowed communists and those with other repulsive attitudes—most of which involve themselves as an exempt elite forcing the people into a mold.

Much has been proposed by Pelosi and Reid, and the near-puppet Administration. All are being promoted as fixes to various manufactured crises, yet those who caused the economic crisis are not being held accountable. Most of those proposals are nonsense. From the climate gibberish exposed by Climategate used as justification to Cap and Tax to the Federal takeover of the medical sector, it has been frustrating to sit on the sidelines and watch.

My candidacy is a reaction to this situation—I can no longer sit idly by and watch the ruination of the United States I used to know and still love. I must do what I can to stop the fall of the USA and restore the country.
