InfoWillis E. Hartman was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, and graduated from Wichita State University with a business degree, double majoring in marketing and economics.

He has held a variety of positions, from oil field work to house painting, advertising sales to vehicle repossessing, and more. While working for Xerox Corporation in the mid 70's, he built speculative houses for additional income. In 1980, Hartman Homes became a partner builder with Tallgrass Country Club Development.

In 1990, Wink returned to the oil business and purchased Hartman Oil Company from his father, Ralph Hartman.

Wink presently owns and oversees a variety of companies, including Hartman Oil Company, H2 Plains, H2 Trucking, H2 Drilling, Hartmoor Investments, commercial construction company Ink Construction, Chester's Chophouse & Wine Bar, Jimmy's Egg, Knolla's Pizza, and the newest live entertainment venue in south central Kansas, the Hartman Arena. With the recent acquisition of additional oil companies, Hartman Oil has become one of the largest independent oil producers in Kansas.

Wink was named 2008 "Businessman of the Year" by the Wichita Business Journal.

Wink's grandfather, W.L. Hartman, introduced polo to the 'mid-states' area and influenced Wink's interest in the sport, inspiring his Hartmoor Polo team, which played from Calgary to Florida, Boston to Santa Barbara, and Chicago to San Antonio.

Wink Hartman is married to Libba Hartman, and they have 5 grown children and 6 grandsons.

Wink and Libba reside on their ranch southeast of Wichita with a menagerie of animals, including camels, llamas, long horn steers, buffalo, watuzies, miniature donkeys, dozens of horses, Inkie the cat, and Ben, Shelby, George and Charlie — their loving family dogs.
