Info | Kurt is proud to call himself a successful businessman. Above all else, he is a Christian, a father, a husband and an American. Kurt is a Christian conservative first and a Republican second because he believes that the labels of a party are not above the principles of a person.
Every seat in Congress belongs to the people. What the people of the 3rd District are looking for is someone who will live by their convictions. We need patriots in Congress, not lifetime politicians. Kurt’s career has been in private business — not public office — and that is his greatest qualification.
Kurt is running for Congress for this very reason: we need real conservatism in Washington, someone elected by the people, for the people, and someone who is willing to fight for conservative values. Our freedoms are being limited and our children’s future is being mortgaged. We must put a stop to it now.
Kurt believes our representatives should be servants to the people, just as the founding fathers were. He knows how to serve — Kurt picked himself up by the bootstraps and started his first small business while still in high school. He believes America is still the land of opportunity. He’s seen it for himself and wants to ensure our country will always be the “City on a Hill,” inspiring hope and freedom across the world.
Before his business, before everything, Kurt cherishes and serves his family. Kurt and his wife, Dawn, will have been married for 20 years on July 14. They have six children, Austin, Sydney, Andrew, Macy, Tessa and Janie. Kurt fights for a better America so that his children will have the same opportunities that he had.
Kurt values the education he received. His first degree was a bachelor of science in finance, his second was a bachelor of Christian ministries with an emphasis in business management, and finally Kurt earned his master of science in leadership and ethics from John Brown University in 2009. With this knowledge, Kurt has worked to serve the Lord and his community.
Kurt believes the challenges before us are great, but the American spirit is greater. Our nation has won world wars, survived devastating depressions, and won the cold war. Right now we are faced with a wrongheaded administration and a severe recession, but Kurt knows we have to fight to put our country back on track. He believes it is a fight we will win, because it is a fight we must win.
