TOP ISSUES & PROPOSALS:

1. Stabilize taxes: "Every year the freeholders have raised taxes without any increase in services. Property owners are being taxed out of their homes due to 24 years of one-party rule and monopoly on government. I will scrutinize the budget and work hard to eliminate excessive waste, excessive spending, and avoid raising taxes at all costs."

2. Open space preservation: "We need to preserve open space, but not at the expense of the taxpayer. The freeholder board purchased the Natirar property in Far Hills for $22 million to preserve open space. So, an all-Republican freeholder board used $22 million of our taxpayers' money to bail out a Republican council and planning board that did not do the planning necessary to protect Far Hills from overdevelopment."

3. Stop sprawl: "With sprawl in Somerset County reaching epidemic proportions, unfortunately so do problems such as traffic congestion and population density. It is not golf courses, stadiums and buildings that make a county great -- it is neighborhoods, communities and open space. I will champion proactive, countywide planning to avoid sprawl."
