Info | Rep. Kevin McManus, a Democrat, represents part of Jackson County (District 46) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2010.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. McManus is an attorney at the Kansas City law firm of Martin Leigh Laws & Fritzlen, P.C., where he practices in the area of real estate and commercial law. Prior to his legal career, Rep. McManus was a researcher at the Urban Institute in Washington, D.C.
Rep. McManus is a member of the South Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Grandview Chamber of Commerce, Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Missouri Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, and Kansas City International Visitor’s Association.
Rep. McManus is a 1997 graduate of Rockhurst High School. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with his B.A. in Government. After graduation, Rep. McManus was selected to participate in Coro Kansas City, an internship program dedicated to developing leaders in public affairs. He also received his J.D. from St. Louis University. While there, he was an 1843 Scholar and served as an editor of the Law Journal.
Born November 3, 1978 in Kansas City, Rep. McManus currently resides in the south Kansas City neighborhood of Verona Hills with his wife, Alex. He and his wife are active members of St. Thomas More Catholic Parish.
