InfoMatthew Campbell is a fifth generation Campbell to have lived on an Iowa Century Farm established in 1880 near Manning, Iowa. Matt graduated in 1993 from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa with a B.A. double major in political science and economics and thereafter achieved his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. Matt also is a 2001 graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he obtained a LL.M in taxation.

Overall, Matt has over 10 years of experience providing international tax services, representing numerous Fortune 500 companies on a wide range of tax issues, primarily in mergers and acquisitions. Matt has recently served as the South region lead for international tax for BKD, LLP, the nation's 10th largest accounting and auditing firm, based in Houston, Texas supporting businesses in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mississippi as well as others throughout the U.S. Matt has participated in Praxity global tax conferences and working meetings in Barcelona, Amsterdam, Toronto, Chicago and Miami and works with companies expanding into markets abroad or that have ongoing worldwide operations.

Matt previously worked for KPMG including a rotation at its Washington National Tax Practice and worked exclusively in federal income tax issues at Kalbian Hagerty, LLP, the outside general counsel for the United Arab Emirates embassy in Washington D.C. Matt previously studied at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan, from 1992 to 1993 through an exchange program at Morningside College to gain first-hand understanding of the US-Japan bilateral economic and strategic relationship, and through the Iowa Sister States program was a guest of the Taiwanese Ministry of Education for the 1995 International Seminar on Chinese Studies, in Taipei, Taiwan. He has visited Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong as well as well as other locations in Europe and Central America.

Matt is a member of the Iowa Bar Association, U.S. Tax Court Bar and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims Bar and previously served as an intern at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims for the Honorable Moody R. Tidwell, as an intern for the Honorable Justice Paul J. Kilburg of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Iowa and as a research assistant at the University of Iowa College of Law for the Honorable Andrew G.T. Moore II, formerly of the Delaware Supreme Court.

Matt is a founding member of the Iowa chapter of the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Foundation Alumni Association having served as its president for its first two years of existence and was the director of the 1992 Sioux City Community Leadership and Educational Workshop for high school youth at Morningside College. Matt was a 1988 Iowa youth delegate to the Rural Electric Cooperative Association Youth Tour in Washington DC courtesy of the Iowa Association of Rural Electric Co-operatives and is a member of the United Methodist Church.

While at Morningside College, Matt was a volunteer, intern and temporary caseworker for Senator Tom Harkin and helped campaign for Senator Harkin in Iowa and New Hamphshire when he ran for U.S. President.
