| Info | For 31 years I have directed campus housing services for universities, most recently at the Fayetteville campus of the University of Arkansas. In this capacity I direct a large complex organization with a multi-million dollar budget and a very large staff, but I don’t have a typical government job.
My department does not receive state or federal funds: we operate like any other business; from the revenues we receive by providing a service to our customers. We operate in a competitive environment with other universities and local off-campus housing providers.
Through good times and bad, I have never overspent my budget, even when forced by circumstances to cut operating costs by more than $1 million.
In 2003 I started Alexander & Associates, a small consulting business that provides housing master planning services to colleges and universities.
My wife Pat and I have been married for 37 years and have two children. Our son Clint and his wife Jessica live in Rogers, Arkansas. Our daughter Lauren, who was born with spina bifida, passed away at the age of 24 and is now disability free! We have been active in organizations providing services to people with disabilities and are members of Fellowship Bible Church of Rogers, Arkansas.
