InfoWho is Brock Merck?

I’m the guy running for the Cook County Board – 9TH District who is disgusted with the present system and has decided to change it by running for political office.

I’m the guy who is not running as a Democrat or Republican because there is not a dimes worth of difference between either party in this race and chose to go in a different direction.

I’m the guy that does not have $279,602.00 in a campaign war chest from political action committees (PAC’s). You know, these same PAC’s that have imaginative names that disguise their intentions. Some of these PAC’s may have provided you with a red light camera ticket, or might have been detrimental in awarding a casino to Rosemont because of background.

I’m the guy that does not have the backing of a Committeeman Daddy in order to get a library contract or a politically appointed job as the Chairman of Homeland Security with the Illinois International Port Authority. Oh, by the way, the port spends half of its multi-million dollar annual budget on the operation of a golf course.

I’m the guy with the character and background needed in order to pull Cook County off of the edge. I’m the lifelong Wildwood resident, Eagle Scout, graduate of Loyola Academy and Loyola University Chicago (Business), owner / operator of a family business (Starvin' Artist Supply), Army Infantry Officer – Afghanistan, Chicago Police Officer, and Catholic (St. Mary of The Woods). I am married to my wife Bridget, and we have three children.

I’m also the guy that the Chicago Reader says, “if you want to end four decades of bipartisan nepotism and logrolling, Brock’s your guy in November.”

I want to be your guy.
