William Penn Collins, former Boulder attorney and apiarist, died in Denver Friday night (August 19, 1949) while he was being removed to a hospital in an ambulance. He had been ill for some time.
Mr. Collins resided in Boulder from 1898 until the twenties when he moved to Denver. Throughout his residence in Boulder he was active in politics, especially in the Socialist party. He was a candidate to several national conventions of the Socialist and continued active in the party after leaving Boulder.
Born in Mukwonago, Wis., August 26, 1865, Mr. Collins attended the University of Wisconsin law school. He is survived by his wife, Louise A. Collins, who did not go to Denver with him but continued her residence at 1504 Pine; three daughters, Wilma Collins, with her mother; Mrs. Elliot H. Parks of St. Louis, who arrived Sunday and Mrs. C. B. Coleman of Stanton, California. There are five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
