InfoNOBLE, David Addison, a Representative from Michigan; born in Williamstown, Berkshire County, Mass., November 9, 1802; attended a private school in Plainfield, Mass., and was graduated from Williams College, Williamstown, Mass., in 1825; studied law in Albany and New York City; was admitted to the bar in 1831 and commenced practice in New York City; moved to Monroe, Mich., in 1831 and continued the practice of law; city recorder of Monroe in 1838, 1839, and 1844-1850; mayor in 1852; served two terms as alderman; member of the State house of representatives in 1847 and 1848; prosecuting attorney and probate judge of Monroe County; elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-third Congress (March 4, 1853-March 3, 1855); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1854 to the Thirty-fourth Congress; appointed manager of the Louisville, New Albany & Chicago Railroad in 1858 and served four years; delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1864; died in Monroe, Monroe County, Mich., October 13, 1876; interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
