Lew Wallace; prosecuting attorney of Montgomery and Boone Counties 1854-1856; member of the State senate 1860-1864; elected as a Republican to the Forty-fifth Congress (March 4, 1877-March 3, 1879); was not a candidate for renomination in 1878; continued the practice of law in Crawfordsville, Ind., until 1911, and died there on February 6, 1917; interment in the Masonic Cemetery.
