InfoScott Armstrong was raised in Truro, Nova Scotia. After graduating from Cobequid Education Centre, he went on to achieve his Bachelor of Arts from Acadia University.

A lifelong learner, Scott has dedicated his life to the development of young people. After completing his undergraduate degree, Scott went on to earn both a Master of Social Science Education from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Southern Mississippi.

An elementary school principal for over ten years, Scott’s passion for education and his commitment to young people has helped thousands of youngsters in Nova Scotia. Under his watch as principal, Tatamagouche Elementary School was named one of the top forty schools in Canada in 2004. He is currently the principal at Truro Elementary School.

Scott’s enthusiasm for education extends to coaching and he has helped hundreds of youngsters to shine in sports like baseball and basketball. He has been proud to watch a number of his teams bring home regional championships, not to mention a Provincial championship in 2009.

Scott is a strong believer in giving back to the community and has received numerous accolades for his service. In addition to working as a volunteer on the Children’s Aid Society Board and the Hospital Foundation Board, Scott is a longstanding volunteer for both the provincial and federal Conservatives, currently acting as the President of the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia.

Scott is determined to bring the same dedication and enthusiasm as your MP for Cumberland—Colchester—Musquodoboit Valley.
