InfoHaving devoted much of his life to public service and community involvement, Tim Nank has the experience, perspective and leadership to represent us as a member of the House of Delegates in Richmond. Tim lives in Kingstowne with his wife Beth and three daughters: Paige (10) and twins Reagan and Lauren (2). He currently serves on the Kingstowne Residential Owners Corporation (KROC) Board of Trustees and is also a Neighborhood Advisory Board member.

Tim’s service to our country in the Naval Reserves has given him first-hand knowledge of the needs and experiences of our service members and their families. Tim was recently selected for direct commission as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserves. He last served in the Office of Naval Intelligence RIA1 at Whidbey Island; prior to that he served with the Joint Intelligence Center Pacific at Fort Lewis. His expertise in national security issues led Tim to proudly serve President Bush for almost 8 years in a variety of capacities such as the National Nuclear Security Administration, the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, and the White House, focusing on nuclear non-proliferation and terrorism. Tim is keenly aware of the threat of terrorism, on both domestic and international levels, and will work hard to keep our state safe.

As parents of a student in the Fairfax County Public School system and annual members of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Tim and Beth Nank have a vested interest in building upon the strengths of our educational system. As a family, the Nanks are very involved in community programs such as “Go Green” – a clean-up event that removed 6 tons of waste from the area. Additionally, Tim has played an instrumental role in the ongoing success of the No Greater Sacrifice Foundation’s Endurance Team, which raises funds to pay for the college tuition for the children of those who have fallen in service to the nation. Tim and his family are members of The Falls Church.

Tim now works as a Senior Analyst within the International Security Policy Division at the non-profit organization Analytic Services, Inc. (ANSER). Additionally, he teaches graduate level courses for the Masters of Business Administration and the International Security Studies Masters program at Trinity University (DC) as an Adjunct Professor.

Tim has a BA from Columbia University of New York, an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and an MA in International Affairs from Tufts University, The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Tim also has done graduate studies and certifications from Oxford University, National Defense University, National Defense Intelligence College and the CIA University.
