I have a unique blend of elected and appointed office experience.
I was first elected in Orland Park in 1989 at the age of 26, the youngest elected official in the history of the Village. I became a Village Trustee in 1996 and have served as Chairman of every Board Committee from Finance/IT and Recreation to Public Works and Economic Development. I was re-elected to my sixth term in office in April 2009. I am very proud of my efforts to lead the re-development of a “failed mall with over 700,000 square feet of empty space” with a public-private partnership that is now one of the most successful retail properties in the south suburban area.
Orland Park has grown substantially a population just over 60,000; we have nearly 300 full-time employees and an annual budget of roughly $100M.
Additionally, I serve on Metra, the commuter rail service in Chicago. I was appointed to serve in 2004. Metra is a $1B transit agency that is the second largest commuter rail service in the country and serves a geographic area the size of Connecticut. I’ve been the main force behind a complete rebuild of Metra’s Web site to make it easier to use as a customer, easier to get information if you are a business that wants to work with Metra and easier to apply for employment if you are a job seeker.
My Republican experience dates back to 1984, when just out of DePaul University I got involved with Reagan-Bush and local State Representative and State Senate races. During the late 1980’s, I served as a Vice-Chairman, Federation of Illinois Young Republicans, for Cook County. I was elected as the Orland Township Republican Committeeman (Township Chairm an) in 1994. I remain active to this day in the Orland Township Republican Organization.
Professional Experience and Education
I am currently a Vice-President at a global marketing information company, leading a group that provides information technology consulting to Fortune 500 companies. We are in over 100 countries, with 30,000+ employees and annual revenue of roughly $4B per year. I’ve built a successful career in marketing research, consulting and technology these past 25 years.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology – Honors Program from DePaul University. Additionally, I hold an MBA from the University of Chicago. My concentrations were: Finance, Economics and International Business.

I was a sergeant in the 178th Infantry and 44th RAOC from 1988-1996 with an Honorable Discharge.

I’m married to Linda, with two kids – Ashley and Jimmy.
