Info | Frederick Christ Trump
Frederick C. Trump, (October 11, 1905, Woodhaven, Queens, New York – June 25, 1999, New Hyde Park, New York), was a prominent builder and real estate developer — and father of real estate/entertainment magnate Donald Trump, the fourth of his five children.
Trump was born to German immigrants Friedrich Drumpf (March 14, 1869, Kallstadt, Rheinland-Pfalz – March 30, 1918), and Elisabeth Christ (October 10, 1880 – June 6, 1966), married at Kallstadt, Rheinland-Pfalz, in 1902. Drumpf emigrated to the United States in 1885 and became a naturalized US Citizen in 1892. Calling himself "Frederick Trump", Drumpf began his career running the Arctic Restaurant and Hotel in Bennett, British Columbia, during the Klondike Gold Rush. He died during the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic when Fred was 13 years old.
In 1936, Fred Trump married Mary A. MacLeod (May 10, 1912, Stornoway, Scotland – August 7 2000), a Scottish immigrant, in New York City.
Trump embarked on a career as a real estate developer, building and operating affordable rental housing in the New York City, including more than 27,000 apartments and row houses in the neighborhoods of Coney Island, Bensonhurst, Sheepshead Bay, Flatbush, and Brighton Beach in Brooklyn and Flushing and Jamaica Estates in Queens.
By the time of his death Trump had amassed a $400 million estate, left largely to his children. Fred Trump suffered from Alzheimers six years before his death from pneumonia in June 1999, at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, in New Hyde Park, New York.
