InfoCURRIER, Frank Dunklee, a Representative from New Hampshire; born in Canaan, Grafton County, N.H., October 30, 1853; attended the common schools, Kimball Union Academy, Meriden, N.H., and Doctor Hixon’s School, Lowell, Mass.; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1874 and commenced practice in Canaan, N.H.; member of the State house of representatives in 1879; secretary of the Republican State committee 1882-1890; clerk of the State senate in 1883 and 1885; delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1884; member of the State senate in 1887 and served as president of that body; naval officer of customs at the port of Boston, Mass., 1890-1894; speaker of the State house of representatives in 1899; elected as a Republican to the Fifty-seventh and to the five succeeding Congresses (March 4, 1901-March 3, 1913); chairman, Committee on Patents (Fifty-eighth through Sixty-first Congresses); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1912 to the Sixty-third Congress; retired from public life; died in Canaan, N.H., November 25, 1921; interment in Canaan Street Cemetery.
