| Info | Laurence Verga, a grandchild of immigrants, has spent his professional career building and managing companies, and he brings a wealth of business experience to his campaign. Mr. Verga's background in sales and sales management, and ownership and development of commercial properties goes back over three decades.
Laurence Verga is the founder of the Verga Trust / Verga Consulting, which owns and operates over one million square feet of multi-family, industrial, retail and office real estate. Laurence Verga also is one of three founding principals of Mastiff Capital Partners, a real estate consulting firm based in Agoura Hills, CA.
Prior to a career in commercial real estate, Laurence worked in sales and sales management for ABC/Disney, AT&T, NCC (National Cable Communications), IDG (International Data Group) and CBS/Viacom. He has overseen over $100 million in sales revenues throughout his career and has been credited for opening a sales division for NCC and IDG (International Data Group), and revitalizing a CBS/Viacom radio sales division in San Francisco, CA.
Laurence is active in charity development and is recognized as the founder of the Verga Project at the University of Virginia Health Services. The Project's goal is to fund research toward a cure for polycystic kidney disease.
Laurence personally suffers from polycystic kidney disease, a genetically-linked condition where cysts attack healthy kidneys. He is working with medical transplant centers, and hopes to receive a kidney donation in the near future. Laurence hopes his candidacy inspires individuals with physical challenges to never back down and to follow their dreams.
Previously, Laurence volunteered for two years working with low income and severely emotionally disturbed children and their families at Mission's Children's Day Treatment Center. He has spent many hours working for the United Way’s Domestic Diversion Program, speaking to organizations and the media in order to build awareness and raise funds. Recently, he coached McIntire T-Ball for two seasons.
Laurence Verga received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Arts in Psychology from Antioch University, Yellow Springs, Ohio. He also pursued doctoral studies at The University of San Francisco, in Organization and Leadership.
Laurence lives in Albemarle County, VA, with his wife Elizabeth and their four children, Oliver, George, Agnes and Charles.
