InfoHi! My name is Tammy Pust, and I want to be your next mayor.

I have lived in Roseville since 1988, and have raised all three of my children here. My oldest daughter, Whitney, is 17 and a senior at Roseville Area High School. She is looking at colleges and keeps busy with RAHS Student Council events, working at Davanni's, and playing lacrosse and volleyball with friends. Connor is 13, in seventh grade at Parkview Center School, and spends a lot of his time immersed in the Lord of the Rings books and video games like most boys his age! Taylor, my 11 year old daughter, is in sixth grade at Parkview, is an amazing writer and is busy practicing for the part of "Bet" in Parkview's upcoming production of Oliver. Together, they are my largest blessings and most dedicated supporters.

I have a lifelong commitment to public service and have served the Roseville community in many ways through the years.

Election Judge, Ramsey County
Co-Editor, Parkview Center School Newsletter
Member, Roseville Area Schools Special Education Advisory Council
Sunday School and Confirmation Teacher, Roseville Lutheran Church [1990 - present]
Member, League of Women Voters
Member, Friends of the Roseville Library
Member, Friends of the Roseville Parks
Member, Parkview Center School Personnel Interview Team [1998 and 2003] and Site Management Team [1996-97]
Vice President, Board of Directors of Kinderhaus Montessori Preschool [1994-96]
I've also served the larger public community by committing my time and talents to the important work done by the following organizations:

Professional Advisory Committee, Minnesota Autism Society
University of Minnesota’s Children, Youth and Family Consortium Advisory Committee [1997 – 2000]
Working Family Resource Center Advisory Council [1997-2000 and present]
Children's Defense Fund/Minnesota Volunteer of the Year [1991]
I have dedicated my professional life to improving the lives of children, families and communities. First as an partner in a Minneapolis law firm, then at the Children’s Defense Fund, and later as the Director of Children’s Advocacy and an Assistant Minnesota Attorney General, I worked to ensure that all young children have the best start their families can provide them and that older children have safe and supervised places to be while their parents work. While I worked to improve the ability of families to support their children, I also increased the state’s ability to manage its finances through my legislative work on behalf of the Department of Revenue.

Most recently as an Assistant Commissioner for the state education agency, then called the Minnesota Department of Children, Families and Learning and now renamed the Minnesota Department of Education, I directed a staff of 80 and shared the responsibility for managing a public budget totaling $28 million annually. I worked hard to trim state spending while maintaining the core functions of the state’s education agency, helped downsize the workforce and led efforts to produce quality outcomes with fewer resources.

Today, I am a small business owner. At Jesson & Pust, P.A., a new law firm in St. Paul, I provide legal and mediation services to citizens and communities. Everyday I utilize the leadership and management skills I’ve developed to meet the needs of my clients and our employees.

I grew up in Montana and initially moved to Minnesota to attend Concordia College in Moorhead. My family and I moved to Roseville in 1988 because we believed that a safe, vibrant and vital community was the best possible place in which to raise our children. As mayor, I will work tirelessly to guarantee that my children’s children, and your children's children, have the same opportunity to raise their families in a community filled with active citizens and respectful government.
