InfoOCCUPATION: Candidate for Governor

OCCUPATIONAL BACKGROUND: For over a decade, Bev Stein has been one of Oregon's most effective leaders, using a common sense approach to produce results for the people of Oregon.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: After graduating from the University of California and the University of Wisconsin Law School, Bev balanced budgets and solved tough problems as a state legislator and Multnomah County Chair.

PRIOR GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: Multnomah County Chair (1993-2001): Bev managed a billion-dollar budget, reduced crime and improved access to health care; State Representative (1989-1993): streamlined government and fought for education.

A Message from Bev Stein:

Oregon is facing tough times. We have the nation's highest unemployment rate and the nation's highest level of childhood hunger.

That's why I am running for Governor: to offer you bold leadership that will get Oregon moving again in the right direction.

I have developed a "Roadmap to the Future", my detailed plan to put Oregon back on the right track:

Improving the availability of good paying jobs...Investing in worker retraining.
Protecting our drinking water...Making polluters pay.
Improving schools by reducing class sizes...Supporting our teachers...Preventing cuts to school funding.
Increasing the quality and availability of in-home nursing care... Helping seniors maintain independent lifestyles...Reducing the price of prescription drugs.
Please join me in putting Oregon back on the right track. I would be honored to have your vote.

Bev is endorsed by
