InfoRay Wieczorek has been a resident of Manchester, NH for fifty-two years. He is the founder of Wieczorek Insurance Agency and has been in business for forty-fiveyears.

Ray is a veteran of the Korean War and is currently a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Ray Wieczorek has been active in over twenty community clubs and activities including the United Way and the Boys and Girls clubs of Manchester.

In 1989 Ray was elected Mayor of Manchester and served five terms winning overwhelmingly each time. In his tenure as Mayor he led the city through tough economic times. In the early 1990's Money Magazine ranked Manchester 296 out of 300 cities, and in 1998 under Mayor Ray Wieczorek Manchester was ranked the #1 Best Small City in the East. Manchester is now home to a thriving Airport, the Verizon Wireless Arena and a revitalized Millyard and Downtown. Manchester has undergone a complete transformation because of the vision of Ray Wieczorek. In honor of his accomplishments in November of 2000, Ray was honored by the Mayor of Board and Alderman whom voted to name the block housing the Verizon Wireless Arena Raymond J. Wieczorek Square.

Ray has been named citizen of the year by the Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the Granite State Taxpayers. He is a recipient of the Small Business Administration Advocacy Award, and 1 of 9 officials nationally to receive the Public Sector Leadership Award and was presented an Honorary Doctor of Laws from New Hampshire College.

Executive Councilor Wieczorek received the Meldrim Thomson, Jr. ‘Principles Above Politics’ Chairman’s Award presented at the New Hampshire State Republican Committee’s Annual Meeting held on January 17, 2009. This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated courageous and principled leadership.
