Info | Penny Kotterman, the Arizona K-12 Center's Associate Director for Policy and New Programs, and former President of the Arizona Education Association as well as employee of the National Education Association.
As a parent, a teacher, and a teacher mentor, I have spent more than thirty years devoted to children and public education. The success of our schools and the opportunities we offer our children will determine Arizona’s prosperity and our quality of life for generations to come. Arizona can do better - we must do better– from critical early learning for our youngest children, to the higher education necessary to prepare the next generation of teachers, scientists, doctors and leaders. That's why I am running for Superintendent of Public Instruction. We must commit ourselves to making sure that every child has a quality teacher and the opportunity to learn in a safe and secure learning environment. In order for our students to excel in the global economy, we must improve Arizona’s high school graduation rate and embrace new technologies and innovation in our schools. Our public schools should be the heart of our communities, and we must work together as parents, educators and leaders, so all of our children are successful.
