| Info | Stacy Parks Miller is a former prosecutor and has previously held the position of First Assistant District Attorney in Clearfield County where she gained extensive experience prosecuting crime and assisting in the management of the District Attorney’s Office.
Parks Miller joined the Clearfield County District Attorney’s Office in 1996, when she was first hired by then District Attorney, Judge Paul E. Cherry. Ultimately, Judge Cherry appointed Parks Miller to the position of First Assistant District Attorney, a position Parks Miller held until leaving the D.A.’s Office in 2001 to join the law firm of Miller Kistler & Campbell.
During her years as a prosecutor, Parks Miller successfully prosecuted a wide variety of criminal cases including: Homicide cases, Sex Crimes, Burglary and Property crimes, Assault cases in addition to a wide variety of drug related offenses. Additionally, Parks Miller has extensive experience representing the Commonwealth on appeal issues in both the Superior and Supreme Court and she has successfully argued criminal appeals on behalf of the Commonwealth in Federal Court.
Currently, Stacy Parks Miller is a shareholder in Centre County’s oldest law firm, Miller Kistler & Campbell. Miller obtained her law degree in 1994 from the Duquesne School of Law and has spent the past 15 years practicing criminal law. Parks Miller practices criminal law in both State and Federal Courts.
Stacy Parks Miller is a native of Lewistown, and is a lifelong resident of Central Pennsylvania. After graduating from Duquesne University School of Law in 1994, Miller moved to Jefferson County where she practiced criminal law and further served as a Jefferson County Deputy Coroner until she accepted employment with the District Attorney’s Office in Clearfield County.
In recent years, Parks Miller has instructed continuing legal education seminars for attorneys on various topics, including Trial Advocacy for Capital Murder Cases, which provides the necessary credits required for lawyers to participate in Death Penalty cases. In 2003, she served as the chair for a DNA subcommittee for the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency, which was organized in response to a back log of DNA analysis.
Stacy Parks Miller is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for both the Middle District and the Western District, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court. Stacy Parks Miller is member of the local chapter of the Inn’s of Court, the American Bar Association and the Centre County Bar Association.
Stacy Parks Miller is running because she believes that Centre County residents deserve a District Attorney they can have complete confidence in. Parks Miller plans to put her experience and strengths to work for Centre County by returning strong effective leadership, good judgment and well reasoned decision making to the Centre County District Attorney’s Office.
Stacy Parks Miller and her husband, Dale Miller of The Hartman Group, and their chihuahua Poppy, reside in State College, Pennsylvania.
