| Info | Brigadier General Gregory J Zanetti assumed the duties as the commander of the 111th ADA Brigade in June 2003. The Brigade has transformed and is one of the first Combat Support Brigades in the Transformed Army. He retains command of the 111th Combat Support Brigade (Forward) as it assumes its new role as the Command Staff of Joint Task Force - Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he is in the position of Deputy JTF Commander.
The General's military service began in May 1980, after graduating from United States Military Academy. After attending the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, the Mortar Course and the Defense Language Institute, he was assigned to Field Artillery units in Germany from 1981-1986.
In April of 1986, then CPT Zanetti joined the New Mexico National Guard. He has served in numerous command and staff positions. He has held two company level commands and two battalion commands (Stinger and Hawk). As an 0-6, he commanded two Brigade size units; the Regional Training Institute (RTI) and the 93rd Troop Command.
Brigadier General Zanetti is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Course and the U.S. Army War College. He is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, the Army Parachutist Badge and numerous other decorations and awards.
BG Zanetti is a financial advisor for Financial Network Investment Corporation. He has been a professional money manager since 1986. He also serves as the business advisor for the NBC and FOX media affiliates in New Mexico. He also serves on numerous charitable boards and organizations.
Brigadier General Zanetti is married to the former Teresa Andrews of Albuquerque, NM. They have been married 26 years. Mrs. Zanetti serves as a State Representative. They have two children.
