InfoDr. Jordan is a graduate of the US Air Force Academy and Emory Medical School in Atlanta. He flew 32 combat missions in the last year of the Vietnam War as a bombardier-navigator while also serving as a flight surgeon for the US Air Force. He ran for the US Senate in 1986, Congress in 1988 and Lt. Governor in 1994. He was appointed by Governor Carroll Campbell to serve on the DHEC Board from 1987-1991 and was elected by the DHEC Board to serve one year as Chairman. He served as the last voluntary President of the South Carolina Policy Council (SCPC), South Carolina’s premier public policy organization, and also as a SCPC Board Member for 16 years. He served as an elected member of the State Board of Education from 1997-2001. He is a retired general surgeon, currently working in emergency medicine. He is married to Pat McGill Jordan and has three children and three grandchildren. He is a member of Northside Baptist Church in Anderson, South Carolina, where he grew up and practices medicine.
