Ran unsuccessfully several times for Congress and Allegheny County Commissioner.
Mr. Jacob ran for Allegheny County commissioner -- in 1979, 1983 and 1987. He teamed with Barbara Hafer to form the Republican ticket for Allegheny County Commissioner in 1983 against Democrats Tom Foerster and Pete Flaherty. The two Democrats and Ms. Hafer captured the three seats.
