Miller (born February 9, 1983) is a Minnesota politician and a member of the Minnesota Senate who represents District 31, which includes portions of Fillmore, Houston, and Winona counties in the southeastern part of the state. A Republican, he was first elected to the Senate in 2010. |
Miller serves as vice chairman of the Senate's Higher Education Committee, and also serves on the Capital Investment, the Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources, and the Jobs and Economic Growth committees. His special legislative concerns include jobs, fiscal responsibility, and education.
Miller is a small business owner, and the chief financial officer of William Miller Scrap Iron and Metal Company in Winona, a family owned and operated recycling business that dates back to 1910. He graduated from Winona Senior High School in 2001, and earned his A.A.S. from Southeast Technical College in Winona in 2004.
Miller is a member of the Board of Directors of the Winona Family YMCA, the Rock Solid Youth Center, and the Winona State University Warrior Club. He is active in the Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical Alumni Association and is a member of the Young Professionals of the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as vice president of the Morrie Miller Athletic Foundation, an organization that has been instrumental in supporting and sustaining youth athletics.
