| Info | Joe Murray and his wife Katie chose to raise their daughter Ella in Alexandria's Brookville-Seminary Valley neighborhood because of the great opportunities our area offers.
Joe and Katie are active members of First Baptist Church of Alexandria, avid softball players--you can see them on all of Alexandria's ball fields during the season--and supporters of the Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association (DEBRA), an organization they learned about when Ella was born with this rare genetic skin disease.
Like many residents of Alexandria's 46th district, Joe and Katie have had careers tied to the Federal government. Katie worked on health and education issues in the U.S. Senate before joining the American Diabetes Association. Joe currently works part-time for the U.S. House of Representatives while attending his third year of Catholic University Law School.
One of eight children, Joe was born in Pittsburgh and raised at the New Jersey Shore. He is a graduate of Rutgers University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minor in Economics.
