Info | Mike Montandon is a seventeen year resident of Nevada. He served as Mayor of North Las Vegas, the fastest growing city in the country, for 12 years. He was first elected Mayor in July 1997 and was re-elected to his third four-year term on July 1, 2005. Mike has the distinction of being the first Republican Mayor ever elected in North Las Vegas.
As Mayor he served on a number of local government boards and committees. He was the executive board member of the Civilian Military Council of Southern Nevada, a representative on the Clark County Debt Management Commission, a member of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, and a member of the North Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency. He served as chairman of the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition Federal Lands Subcommittee. He was a member of the Clean Water Coalition. He also was an ex-officio member of the Deferred Compensation Advisory Committee.
Montandon is presently employed in the construction industry. Prior to coming to Southern Nevada, Montandon worked in commercial appraisal and land planning in Phoenix, Ariz. He served as the treasurer of the Las Vegas Chapter of the Appraisal Institute in 1995 and 1996.
Montandon graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. He also completed the Harvard University Program for Senior Executives at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Mike is married to Antoinette and has five children.
