| Info | Ms. Garza Ruiz was born and raised in the Kansas City area and was elected to the Jackson County Legislature in 2006. After graduating from high school, she enlisted in the United States Navy and spent 5 years on active duty. Ms. Garza Ruiz received a National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and several Letters of Recognition during her service. Upon completion of her enlistment, she was awarded an Honorable Discharge.
Ms. Garza Ruiz holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Del Mar College located in Corpus Christi, Texas and a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She is currently working on a Masters Degree in Public Administration through Park University with emphasis on Government Business Relations and Public Management.
Her dedication to improving Jackson County has been illustrated over the years through her participation in a variety of community, civic, and political organizations.
