Wife of Mayorial Candidate Gavin Newsom
Former Victoria's Secret Model
In both her personal life and her professional life, Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom is deeply involved in making San Francisco an even better place. She is an Assistant District Attorney at the San Francisco District Attorneys Office in the General Litigation Unit. Kimberly recently successfully completed a lengthy trial in the case People v. Noel and Knoller, a second-degree murder trial involving a dog mauling. This precedent-setting case received national and international attention.
Kimberly was born in San Francisco to a Puerto Rican mother and an Irish father. She grew up in the Mission District and Westlake and is a graduate of Mercy High School, the University of California at Davis, and the University of San Francisco Law School. She interned at the San Francisco District Attorneys Office while attending law school and was hired shortly after graduation. After a stint as a prosecutor in San Francisco, Kimberly spent four years in Los Angeles as a Deputy District Attorney, amassing an impressive record in adult and juvenile cases, including narcotics, domestic violence, kidnapping, robbery, arson, sexual assault and homicide cases. She received several awards at the Los Angeles District Attorneys Office, including Prosecutor of the Month. Kimberly also acquired experience prosecuting dog-fighting cases while in Los Angeles, which proved useful when she volunteered to prosecute animal abuse cases in San Francisco.
Kimberlys commitment to San Francisco is evidenced through her volunteerism. The Little Jim Club of the California Pacific Medical Center recently honored Kimberly for her dedication to raising money for their childrens pediatrics programs. In addition, Kimberly helps raise funds for the San Francisco Zoo, St. Anthonys Dining Room, St. Boniface School, Tall Ship Semester for Girls, the Peninsula Humane Society and the Northern California Cancer Center. She also played a vital role in fundraising efforts for Continuum, an AIDS Service Organization that provides innovative health care and human services to prevent homelessness and build community amongst participants. Kimberly is a mentor to young, urban high school girls through the GirlSource organization in the Mission District and through the YWCA for girls ages six through fourteen. Kimberly has also served as a panelist at the UCSF Hospitals Young Womens Health Conference in San Francisco. Additionally, she is an active member in the San Francisco Womens Political Caucus, California District Attorneys Association, the American Bar Association and La Raza Lawyers Association.
She is married to Gavin Newsom, a San Francisco Supervisor and a leading candidate for mayor.
