Info | Tony Jordan, a resident of Jackson, is a partner in the law firm of Jordan & Kelly LLC, and previously served as a part-time Assistant District Attorney in Washington County.
Raised right here in the Capital Region, Tony Jordan values the quality of life, the people and the wonderful natural resources of our area. It is this strong familiarity and deep sensitivity that enables Tony to recognize and relate to the issues and daily struggles faced by the hardworking middle-class families of the 112th Assembly District. Whether it’s rising property taxes, soaring gas and home heating oil prices or the high cost of prescription drugs for seniors, Tony knows the challenges of living in Washington, Rensselaer and Saratoga Counties.
That’s why Tony Jordan supports a holistic plan to cap and cut local property taxes once and for all by passing a property tax cap, circuit breaker and reducing out-of-control state spending. Tony wants the State to lead the way as we transition to the use of alternative fuels to meet our state’s future energy needs. Also, Tony is a strong advocate for both lower prescription drug costs and preserving precious open space and farmland.
Tony is a small-business man and a family man. He knows the difficulties of doing business in New York State with its high taxes and overregulation. Tony is also keenly aware of the challenges facing the agricultural sector, as his wife, Wendy (Skellie), comes from a family of third-generation dairy farmers. Tony will work across party lines for smart, common sense solutions to the issues that affect real people in their everyday lives.
Tony earned a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1995 Magna Cum Laude, and received his bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in finance from the University of Notre Dame in 1986. He is an active community volunteer with the Greenwich Lions Club, Cornell University FarmNet Program, the Cub Scouts, youth soccer, the Greenwich Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, Sunday School Teacher and does pro-bono legal work for several fire companies and rescue squads.
