Info | BANNON, Henry Towne, a Representative from Ohio; born near Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, June 5, 1867; attended the public schools of Portsmouth, Ohio State University at Columbus in 1885 and 1886, and was graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1889; studied law; was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1891 and practiced in Portsmouth, Ohio; prosecuting attorney of Scioto County 1897-1902; elected as a Republican to the Fifty-ninth and Sixtieth Congresses (March 4, 1905-March 3, 1909); was not a candidate for renomination in 1908; resumed the practice of law; delegate to the Republican National Conventions in 1924, 1928, 1932, 1936, and 1940; served as a director of the First National Bank, National Bank of Portsmouth, Oak Hill Savings Bank, and the Selby Shoe Co.; also engaged in literary pursuits; died in Portsmouth, Ohio, September 6, 1950; interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
