InfoCommissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation
Frank Avila is contemplating a run for the soon to be
vacant US Senate seat in Illinois.

Commissioner Frank Avila is first and foremost a family
man. He is a good son, husband and father. He is
married to Sharilyn Kay "Sherry" Avila formerly Kremp
Hooste of Peoria Illinois. He has been married for 36
years to the first and only person he ever married.
Frank Avila is the proud father of three happy and
productive children Frank Jr 33 an attorney, Quinn Mark
29 a computer engineer and Audrey a straight A college
student. Frank and his wife have been involved in St.
Andrews Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) in Park Ridge
and Edison Park United Methodist Church in Chicago.
Frank and Sherry have been trying to read the Bible on
a daily basis together.

Commissioner Avila is a Civil Engineer by education and
profession. He graduated from the University of
Illinois Champagn Urbana with a Bachelor of Science in
Civil Engineering. (U of I is one of the top
engineering schools in the nation) Avila is a licensed
Professional Engineer (P.E.) in a number of states
including Illinois and a Professional Land Surveyor.
He went on to earn a Masters in Finance from the
University of Arizona. He has done continuing
education in computers, programming, GIS, employment
law, transportation and now in his later years is
moving away from his technical background to studies of
the Bible and philosophy with a special affinity for
Plato and Benjamin Franklin. Frank Avila has over 40
years of engineering experience completing numerous
projects including roads and bridges. He owned and
operated an engineering company for over 26 years that
he sold recently.

Commissioner Avila was elected to the Metropolitan
Water Reclamation District Board in 2002 to a full six
year term. Avila is the only engineer on the board.
The MWRD is close to a Billion dollar a year agency
with billions of dollars in the Deep Tunnel Project and
over 2,000 employees. The agency is a highly technical
agency with very modern technology and is known as a
civil engineering wonder. The mission of the agency is
to treat waste water. Since September 11 , 2001 the
agency has become even more important because of the
importance of the quality of water and the threat of
terrorism.

Commissioner Frank Avila has decided to comtemplate a
run for the US Senate seat being vacated by incumbent
US Senator Peter Fitzgerald from Illinois. If elected
he would the only Latino Senator in the United States
and may be the only engineer Senator currenly in the
Senate. Commissioner Avila has lived the American
dream and is a patriotic and loyal American. He wants
to give something back, and while a successfull
businessman, he is not the super wealthy candidate who
can finance his own campaign. He wants to be the
simple man and candidate offering common sense ideas
and a fresh approach from an engineer and small
businessman.

the possibility of Commissioner Frank Avila running for
the Senate. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
