Pitt County tobacco farmer who gained national attention in 1983 when he led a group of tobacco farmers who sought to reform federal regulations regarding tobacco farming. After losing in that effort, Moye changed his registration to Republican and embarked upon a short political career.
Became a real estate appraiser in the 1980s and maintained that occupation until his death.
