| Info | As a San Diego native, April Boling is one of our city’s rare finds. Born and raised in the heart of San Diego she is a graduate of Hoover High School and the University of San Diego where she attained a degree in Accounting.
A Certified Public Accountant, April Boling’s impressive career began as a Budget Analyst for the Department of the Navy, where she was responsible for internal budgeting and external negotiations. She oversaw a budget of more than $200 million dollars. Later, April Boling was a Tax Manager for the San Diego office of Price Waterhouse, one of the world’s largest accounting firms.
In 1989, April Boling started her own CPA practice. For eighteen years her small business has provided tax and accounting services to families, businesses and political clients. April has become one of the state and city’s leading experts in campaign finance, helping to shape political reporting so that it is fair and accurate. Her efforts in this field have made the political process more open, accessible and available to citizens.
Helping our city through community efforts has always been a big part of April Boling’s life. Using her expertise in accounting and financial management, she has participated in and led some of our area’s most important public service organizations. She served as the Chairwoman of both the San Diego Convention Center Corporation and the San Diego County Taxpayers Association. She also served on the San Diego Citizen’s Budget Committee and as Chair of the Patrick Henry High School Foundation.
April married her husband, Tom, in 1976. They have two grown children and reside in the San Carlos area of San Diego.
