InfoGeorge George has deep roots in our community and a strong commitment to serving others. George has lived in Rancho Bernardo for 45 years and raised four children there with his wife, Jo Ann.

George moved to San Diego with his parents in 1958 and joined the San Diego Fire Department in 1962. A lifelong public servant, he served the residents of District 5 as a firefighter, fire engineer, fire captain and battalion chief. George achieved the rank of Assistant Chief and then acting Chief before leaving the Department after a 31 year career.

In addition, George served as Fire Chief for the City of Solana Beach for eight years. He was the chairman of the Solana Beach Public Safety Commission responsible for working with citizens to solve local neighborhood traffic issues. His financial experience includes overseeing multiple-million dollar budgets and more than 1,000 employees.

George is currently a small businessman and owns and operates Fire House Kettle Corn, which donates a portion of its profits to charity to support abused and battered children. He is a member of the North County Chamber of Commerce and the Poway Chamber of Commerce.

George earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University. He has been active in a variety of community programs, including Pop Warner football, Little League, soccer and softball. George and his wife attend St Michael’s Church in Poway.
