InfoBill served in the Oregon legislature for 14 years. From 1981 to 1985, he represented the southwest corner of Oregon as a state representative. From 1985 to 1995, he represented the coast as a state senator. Bradbury was Senate Majority Leader from 1986 to 1993 and was elected Senate President in 1993. He served as chair of the Western Legislative Conference, a group of elected and appointed officials from 13 Western States and three Pacific island territories.

Bill was appointed Secretary of State in November 1999 and elected to the office in 2000.

From 1995 to 1999, he was Executive Director of "For the Sake of the Salmon," a non-profit organization dedicated to finding common ground for salmon restoration in Oregon, Washington and California.

Bradbury was born in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Chicago and Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. Bradbury graduated from the University of Chicago Laboratory High School in 1967 and attended Antioch College in Ohio. In 1971, Bill moved to Bandon, Oregon.

Bill is married to Katy Eymann, an attorney and personal coach. Bill has two daughters. Abby, 25, graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont and Zoe, 22, graduated from Stanford University in California.
