She currently serves as chairwoman for the board of commissioners, the board of elections, and the board of inspectors for the county jail.
The candidate has served as the chair of the local elected officials for the Northwest Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board for the past two years and is the commissioners' liaison to the county planning commission.
In addition, she serves as a member of the Clarion County Fair Board, the Penn State Extension Service office and the Clarion-Jefferson Community Action program, and she is a member of the consulting group that works with the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania.
Prior to being elected commissioner, she worked for several local manufacturers and the county's Economic Development Corp., as well as for McIlhattan.
She graduated cum laude from Clarion University with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and is a recent graduate of the Penn State Rural Leadership program.
Oberlander and her husband, Derek, live in Clarion with their children, Tori and Tanner.
She is an active member of Zion Baptist Church in Reidsburg.
