Info | Keith was born the youngest of six children and grew up in the small community of Mobile on the Southern Shore. Keith attended St Bernard's Elementary School in Witless Bay and Mobile Central High in his later years. He was an avid athlete and participated in many sports including hockey, running, ball hockey and golf. Keith stills plays today and also has coached minor softball, soccer and hockey. Keith has also been active as a volunteer with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Eastern NL as Board member and has chaired various fundraising events.
Keith attended Memorial University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Major in Political Science and Minor in History) and completed a Certificate in Public Administration. He continued his education in later years and completed an Occupational Health and Safety Program from Ryerson University in Toronto. Keith has also completed courses toward a Masters Program in Public Administration from Dalhousie University in Halifax.
Keith's professional career has included 11 years with the Workplace Health Safety and Compensation Commission in various positions including managing various departments within the organization. He served as Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant to then Leader of the Official Opposition (1996-1998) the Honourable Loyola Sullivan. He is also owner of his own consulting business which he has operated successfully for the past 2 years.
On February 8th, 2007 Keith offered himself as the Progressive Conservative Party candidate in the by-election for the District of Ferryland and was bestowed a tremendous privilege by the voters when elected as the 9th Member of the House of Assembly for the District of Ferryland since Confederation.
On October 30, 2007, Keith was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment.
Keith is married to Lynn Croft of Aquaforte and they have 2 young children age 8 and 10.
