| Info | Wade Verge was born and raised in the small town of Beachside in Green Bay. His father, Calvin spent most of his life working as a logger, contractor and miner while his mother, Gertrude worked hard to raise eight children. Wade has two children, Jenelle and Latoya and is married to Maxine Dearing formerly of Morton's Harbour. Wade graduated from Memorial University in 1985 and began his teaching career in Roddickton where he worked for two years. In 1995 Wade received a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Memorial University. For the past twenty years Wade has lived in Lewisporte and served the parents and students of Lewisporte District. He spent eight years teaching Mathematics and Science at Ralph Laite Collegiate followed by five years as principal of that school. This was followed by six years as principal of Lewisporte Collegiate and three years as principal of New World Island Academy.
Wade served as President of the Provincial School Administrators Association 2006-07, he served five years as president of Notre Dame Branch of NLTA, he was recently elected to the Provincial Executive of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers Association and he represents Newfoundland as a Director on the Canadian Association of Principals Executive. Wade has participated in numerous public speaking opportunities and has used his experience to advocate for the rights of individuals in many forums.
