Info | A native of L’Anse au Clair, Danny attended High School at Mountain Field in Forteau. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Political Science and Business) from Memorial University and a Master of Arts (Political Science) from Acadia University.
During his time at MUN, he was president of the Young Liberals of Newfoundland and Labrador (1983-1985), as well as an executive board member of the party.
Danny has worked for the Iron Ore Company of Canada, Labradoir City (1979-1983) the Marine Institute , Goose Bay (1987-1989)
In 1989, under Clyde Well’s government, he became the MHA for the District of Eagle River and served his constituents until 1996. He vice-chaired the Public Accounts Committee (1993-1994), and was designated Parliamentary Assistant to Premier Wells from 1994-1996.
Since that time, Danny has amassed a tremendous amount of experience in the fishing industry through a company he established called Labrador Gem Seafoods, which operates three fishplants at Blanc Sablon, Old Fort Bay (QC) and Ramea. In June 2006, he was also elected to serve as President of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador and has remained in that position since.
In September 2007, he was chosen to be the Liberal candidate for the District of Torngat Mountains. Danny is confident that his experience and dedication will bring about positive change for the district.

Danny is married to Maria Laura and has three children Steven, Lia and Daniel.
