Cliff and his wife Marilyn have three active sons, Braydon, Addison and Colby. Marilyn is a native of Glenboro, Manitoba and teaches Grade 6 at the Glenboro School.
Cliff plays an active role as community volunteer, giving his time to a number of worthy organizations; Captain of the Volunteer Fire Department with 17 years of service, various community boards such as the Glenboro Community Development Corporation, Community Round Table, Glenboro Curling Club and the Glenboro United Church.
As an activist for the Environment Cliff has been Past President of the Manitoba Weed Supervisors Association and Provincial Manager of the Association for a Clean Rural Environment.
In April of 2004, Cliff with full support of his family was successful in seeking the Progressive Conservative Nomination in Turtle Mountain. He was elected in June, 2004 in a by-election and took the Oath of Office in July 2004.
In May 2006, Hugh McFadyen appointed Cliff to the roles of Critic for Water Stewardship, Healthy Living and Sport.
