| Info | Both Blaine and his wife Dianne are lifelong Carman residents who have been actively involved in their community from the get-go and have no plans to slow down.
The fact that 2006 Census figures show a decline of 3.5 per cent in the constituency's population – 570 people – isn't a figure the current government should be proud of and Blaine vows to work to make his constituency a growing, thriving one, rather than a shrinking one it has become under the NDP.
As well, he says it's been disappointing to see the roads, health care facilities and schools in his area neglected for so long by the provincial government.
Through Blaine's many years in the farming and feedlot industries he has developed a reputation for being hard-working, fair and honest – assets he would bring to the Manitoba Legislature if elected to serve the Carman constituency.
Blaine believes communities must work together to realize their potential and address short-comings. Revitalizing the Carman constituency in consultation with residents, from youth to seniors, is his top priority.
