Rich Myers knows how to represent Western Illinois because Rich Myers is from Western Illinois. He was born and grew up on a farm outside of Colchester. He went to public schools, including Western Illinois University, and continued to work the family farm before being elected to his first term in the state House of Representatives.
Rich knows how to work hard. He works hard to hold down taxes while making sure our young people, seniors and disadvantaged are well taken care of. He’s an “on the job” legislator; working hard on the house floor, in committees and in the communities he serves. He listens and he takes action.
He also knows what Western Illinois does not need: inexperience and another democrat to join Mike Madigan’s tax and spend bandwagon. Rich Myers’ approach to representing his district is this - “experienced vision.” That’s what we need in Springfield, and why Rich is “Dedicated to Western Illinois.”
