InfoWith a strong sense of social justice and dedication to environmental protection, Sarah is committed to building a fair, independent and sustainable Australia.

Passionate about the rights of people to live freely in a fair and just society, Sarah has been an activist leader in South Australia for seven years, coordinating numerous human rights and social justice campaigns such as the treatment of refugees and children in detention centres, and South Australian Guantanamo Bay inmate David Hicks’ right to a fair and prompt trial. She has also worked on environmental causes, including the campaign against a national nuclear waste dump and the mounting uranium industry in SA.

Sarah is professionally employed as coordinator of Amnesty International across SA and NT, listening to and talking with people about social justice issues, reviewing Government policy and putting a public face and voice to human rights. While currently on maternity leave from Amnesty International, Sarah is busy running her election campaign and caring for her new baby girl.

With the rest of the Greens Senate team, Sarah will fight in Parliament for a real solution to climate change, putting forward long-term sustainable solutions to Australia's energy crisis, making Australia a world leader in clean energy technologies as well as long-term energy conservation.

As the Greens’ lead Senate candidate, Sarah is committed to making sure that South Australians have the opportunity to be represented by a party that believes in a principled, fair and compassionate style of politics.

Sarah and her husband Zane live with their family in the south-eastern suburbs of Adelaide.
