| Info | George Taylor was born on November 25, 1955 in Columbia, South Carolina. Columbia has been Taylor family soil since 1750, and the State Capital was established on Taylor land in 1786. It has been the home of eight generations of Taylors including Governor John Taylor. George's home church is Trinity Episcopal Church, and for secondary schools he attended both public and private schools in Columbia. He studied Philosophy at U.S.C., M.I.U. and Clemson University. In 1980 he completed his BA in Philosophy, and while teaching continued graduate studies, completing a Masters in Teaching English in 1986 from The University of South Carolina. Since 1982 his primary profession has been teaching Philosophy, Debate, and English. Presently he is an Assistant Principal and a teacher in Winnsboro. In addition to teaching, in 1991 George began practicing sustainable organic agriculture on Poplar Haven Farm where He now lives. George is married to the former Barbara Saunders. She is a professional musician and music teacher with a Master's Degree in Music from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. George and Barbara have two daughters, Virginia and Claire.
